Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad police responding to the report of an elderly woman begging for coins found a young woman instead. On Tuesday, Playa del Carmen police located the old woman covered head to toe begging for money on a public street.

Police approached her after concerned citizens in central Playa del Carmen made the report to authorities in hopes of helping her. However, while one of the responding officers was talking with her, he discovered she was actually a healthy 35-year-old female.

The unidentified female had disguised herself as an elderly woman and quickly left the area once she was found out. Nearby neighbors who were concerned about the ‘elderly woman begging for money’ were outraged when they saw a young woman emerge from under the bag lady clothes.
